FAQs CareCredit Basics

What is CareCredit?

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card designed for your health, beauty, and wellness needs. It’s a way to pay for the costs of many treatments and procedures and allows you to make convenient monthly payments. For complete details of healthcare financing terms, please review the CareCredit account agreement within the application.

Where can I use CareCredit?

CareCredit is accepted at over 200,000 locations nationwide for LASIK and Vision Care, Cosmetic and Dermatology Procedures, Dentistry, Veterinary, Hearing Care and other specialties. If your provider doesn’t already accept CareCredit, you can refer them to us.

CareCredit is now also accepted at select retail locations.*

How is CareCredit different from my other bank cards?

CareCredit extends special financing offers that you can’t get when using your Visa or MasterCard to pay for health, beauty and wellness care at enrolled providers. With shorter term financing options of 6, 12, 18 or 24 months no interest is charged on purchases of $200 or more when you make the minimum monthly payments and pay the full amount due by the end of the promotional period. If you do not, interest is charged from the original purchase date**.

CareCredit also extends longer term healthcare financing for 24, 36, 48 or 60-month periods with a Reduced APR and Fixed Monthly Payments Required until paid in Full. Purchases of $2,500 or more qualify for the 60-month offer with a 16.9% APR (24, 36 and 48 financing terms are for purchases of $1,000 or more with a 14.9% APR**).

For complete details, see the CareCredit account agreement within your application.

Is CareCredit a medical insurance policy?

No. CareCredit is a healthcare credit card and it does not replace medical insurance policies that you might have. It is intended to help you pay for out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered by your health plan.

I’m not sure I want another credit card. Why do I want CareCredit?

CareCredit helps you pay for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses for you, your family, and even your pets! Once you are approved, you can use it again and again* to help you manage health, wellness and beauty costs not covered by insurance.

Plus, Special Financing** for 6, 12, 18 or 24 Months is available on qualifying purchases of $200 or more made with your CareCredit credit card account. For purchases of $1,000 or more special financing** for 24, 36 or 48 months is available, and for purchases of $2,500 or more special financing for 60 months is available.

* Subject to credit approval. Minimum monthly payments required. Not all promotional financing options are available at all enrolled providers. Ask yours for details. Promotional financing options are not available at all retail locations that accept CareCredit and standard account terms will apply to such purchases.

** For new accounts: Purchase APR is 26.99%; Minimum Interest Charge is $2. Existing cardholders should see their credit card agreements for their applicable terms.
